HD35P error code E5

Back to List

This unit is only 4 months old, sits in a benign location, and has not moved since installed.  The pump appears to be working, as I can push the "drain" button, and it empties (it's set to "pump" mode).  The temperature is always above 50F, normally around 60-65F.

I noticed that it is no longer running a couple of days ago, when I started seeing condensation.  The display shows an error code "E5", which the manual indicates is "refrigerant leak".  Could that really be the problem on a unit so new?

When I unplug it, and plug it back in, the error clears and it runs for approx. 30 min before stopping again with the error.  While it is running for those 30min, the humidity does appear to be reducing (based on the display, and a separate humidity meter).

I'm looking for help resolving this issue.

Thank you,

Craig

Dear Craig,
We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience you are experiencing with your Alorair unit. We understand how frustrating it can be when equipment does not perform as expected, especially when it is relatively new.

The error code "E5" that you are seeing on the display does indeed indicate a refrigerant leak. While it is uncommon for such an issue to arise in a unit that is only 4 months old, we assure you that we are here to help.

We would like to remind you that your Alorair unit comes with a 5-year limited warranty, and given that your unit is just 4 months old, it is well within the warranty period.
