What is the inner & outer diameters of the drain hose on the Storm 80X?

Back to List

I'm thinking of relocating my Storm 80X to an area of the crawl space farther than the 19' hose will reach. What hose can I purchase to make a longer run? Can I purchase an additional quick connect coupling from Alorair or a recommended 3rd party for the new drain hose to attach it to the Storm 80X?

Dear Ben Chiswell,

For the Storm 80X, the unit uses the pump drain configuration. Here are the specifications:

Pump drain hose: 19.60 ft (6 M) in length

Inner diameter: 6mm

Outer diameter: 10mm

Regarding your question about extending the drain hose beyond the included length:

Our engineering team does not recommend extending the pump drain hose.

The pump is specifically calibrated for the included 19.60 ft (6 M) hose. Extending the hose — even with the same diameter — increases resistance and back pressure, which can negatively affect pump performance, lead to slower drainage, pump overwork, or even premature pump failure.

Instead of extending the hose, we suggest:

Relocating the unit closer to a suitable drainage point within the 6m hose range.

Using a condensate pump transfer system if the drainage point is significantly farther — this allows you to pump from the Storm 80X into a secondary reservoir pump that can push water much longer distances.
