Cycling on and off

Back to List

I just purchased a new unit and plugged installed it in my crawl space two days ago.  Since the first evening (after only a couple of hours of being plugged in), the unit started cycling on and off every 5-10 seconds.  I noticed it because I could hear it constantly beeping.  When I checked on it, the unit doesn't power off completely, but every 5-10 seconds the unit's internal motor/fan will shut off, then in about 5-10 seconds I hear a beep and the motor/fan turns back on for 5-10 seconds before shutting off again and the process continues.  I've unplugged the unit and when plugging it back in, it will go several minutes before this process starts again, but it always starts again.  This is a new unit.  There are no error codes.  Also, the target humidity level on the machine is 25% but my humidity in the crawl space is about 75%.  Any idea why this is happening and how to correct it?

FYI... the unit is an AlorAir® Storm LGR Extreme

My unit did the same thing. Left it unplugged for a week and plugged it back in and it seems to be working fine now.

Hi Jared, please remove the casing and record a video of the cycle of starting and stopping and the beeping sound so we can make the correct judgment. Thank you!
