Alorair hd55 cooling function is not working after freeze

Back to List

Hello,

My dehumidifier froze up. I found it with a thick layer of ice of the side of the filter. I was getting late in the fall, so I turned it off. Now it doesnt cool anymore. So there is no humidity control. What can be done to fix this?

Thanks,

Vikrant

Dear Vikrant,
Thank you for reaching out to Alorair regarding your HD55 dehumidifier issue.
We apologize for any inconvenience caused by the freezing and subsequent malfunctioning of your unit. Here are some steps you can take to address the problem:

Defrost and Clean the Unit:
Turn off the dehumidifier and unplug it from the power source.
Allow the ice to melt naturally at room temperature. Do not attempt to remove the ice manually as this could damage the coils or other components.
Once all the ice has melted, clean the interior of the dehumidifier thoroughly to prevent future blockages.

Restart the Dehumidifier: After ensuring the unit is completely dry and the ambient temperature is suitable, plug it back in and turn it on.

Contact Customer Support: If these steps do not resolve the issue, please contact our customer support team for further assistance. We will guide you through additional troubleshooting steps or arrange for service if necessary.
