Proper Use and Maintenance

· Before using it, keep it steady in an upright position for about 30 minutes to allow the refrigerant and other internal components to settle
· If the unit is newly delivered, let it settle for about 12 hours before using it
· Make sure that your desired area is well-sealed by either shutting all windows, vents or using other barriers
· It must be connected to a grounded electric source to avoid accidents and damage
· Make sure you have the right power supply to avoid electrical issues
· It is not suggestible to use an extension cord as well as a power adaptor
· Use the control panel or remote to set your desired level of humidity
· The surface in which it is set to operate must be leveled and steady
· Do not position the discharge and inlet onto a wall
· Never tamper with the internal components while the unit is running
· Always maintain a 6ft. distance from any form of obstruction
· Avoid deploying it in areas with a high amount of corrosive materials
· Make sure to properly unplug it before deploying it to another area

· Annually check up the coils for maintenance
· You may use a foaming coil cleaner for cleaning the coils
· Confirm that the cords are cleaned from any debris and are properly wrapped and secured for storage

Works great in my crawl space. Very quiet. Great customer service. Had a question when we were first installing and were able to reach customer service with one call and they were very helpful.

Unit did not power up when first received. I envisioned tons of problems. Customer service was superb. They worked with me to get the unit up and working without having to ship it back and wait for a replacement unit. Couldnot be more pleased.
Under house dehumidifier

I had a crawl space that was a little humid at 73%. Installed this and next day humidity was at 47%, this will also help in the conditioned space in house above crawl space.
Terrible support.

I bought a device from this company for a conditioned basement. It was awesome...for 53 weeks. In the 53rd week, it froze up... literally. Of course this was one week after the warranty that covered shipping expired. Even though it was still fixable under warranty, it was approximately $400 to ship it for repair. I paid approximately $900 for the unit and was told that this freezing was a common, known issue. The information on Amazon stayed the opposite, claiming that Aloraire had solved this problem and leads the industry! They did offer to sell me an upgraded model for half price, plus shipping. I had lost all trust in this company at this point and in the trash the unit went. That was two years ago and my $125 Costco dehumidifier has kept my humidity level in the basement at 40% since. Donot waste your money on this sham of a company.

Item does not work properly

This item never worked properly from day 1 , it leaks from the bottom instead of pumping water through hose like all other dehumidifiers and it case causing more damage to floors . I show up to extract water and I am adding more water with this machine????
These work ok but are a bit pricey

Mine worked well for about a year then stopped working as well,it still runs but does not pull out much water if any if the basement is cold (60-ish) so mine ether leaked coolent or i just didnt notice that it did not work well in cool weather,i have one of their larger models as well and it does not work very well in the cold ether. Most dehumidifiers blow out some heat when running, out of the three that i have from these guys none of them put out warm air like both my LG and frigidaire units do. not sure if that indicates a problem with them or if that is by design.
Failed Circuit board - good customer service

From the Amazon

I splurged for a high end Alorair dehumidifier after my consumer grade unit gave up the ghost. The unit appears to be well made and perfect for my basement application. I installed the unit with the drain line to my sump pump - the unit has no holding tank to empty. The unit ran fine for a couple of hours, then locked up. Power switch, up/down humidity setting buttons were all inoperative. I could reset the unit with a power fail and it would run again for a few hours until it locked up again. I contacted Amazon with the intention of returning the defective unit. Much to my dismay, the 50 pound paperweight return trip was on MY Nickel - Alorair does not pay for return shipping. I then contacted Alorair through the Amazon messaging channel - and immediately got an automated response from Alorair Service. They asked for additional information and if possible a video of the symptoms that I experienced. I filmed a short video detailing the problem with the locked up unit, and after a day or so, Sam from Alorair Service contacted me to ask if I was willing to take the unit apart to replace the circuit cards inside rather than incur the inconvenience of shipping a 50 lb unit back and forth. As a retired service tech, this is no problem for me. It was very straight forward, and Sam from Alorair provided YouTube videos covering disassembly. However, if you are squeamish about unplugging and replacing electronic circuit cards, it may be a bit of a challenge - see photo of the circuit card and the plugs attached. Once I replaced the circuit cards, the unit started running normally. One item of note - the Humidity setting has a +/- 3% tolerance, so if you set the unit to 45%, it will turn on when the humidity sensor reaches 48% and off when it reaches 42%. Sam from Alorair explained this operation to me in a separate email. Overall, the unit appears to be a very good unit, I look forward to a drier and more comfortable basement.

I live in a pretty humid area and have installed this in my crawlspace. I can hear it running on the first floor if I am directly over it but it is merely a quiet hum. It is built really solid and has kept the humidity consistent. I will edit this review when it does eventually kick the bucket but so far I would say it was worth the purchase as the crawlspace humidity is essential.
