Proper use and maintenance

Every dehumidifier needs proper usage and maintenance to support its long-lasting capability. Here are some safety tips for using and maintaining it:
· Before using it, keep it steady in an upright position for about 30 minutes to allow the refrigerant and other internal components to settle
· If the unit is newly delivered, let it settle for about 12 hours before using it
· Make sure that your desired area is well-sealed by either shutting all windows, vents or using other barriers
· It must be connected to a grounded electric source to avoid accidents and damage
· Make sure you have the right power supply to avoid electrical issues
· It is not suggestible to use an extension cord as well as a power adaptor
· Use the control panel or remote to set your desired level of humidity
· The surface in which it is set to operate must be leveled and steady
· Do not position the discharge and inlet onto a wall
· Never tamper with the internal components while the unit is running
· Always maintain a 6ft. distance from any form of obstruction
· Avoid deploying it in areas with a high amount of corrosive materials
· Make sure to properly unplug it before deploying it to another area
· Never leave it plugged when not in use
· When cleaning, use a damp cloth dipped in mild soap solution in wiping its exterior
· Remember to check the inlet and outlet for any blockages

I purchased this Alorair Sentinel HDi90 with pump in May 2022. It worked great after I installed it but after a couple of months, the coils started freezing up. I contacted Jenavieve at Alorair Customer Support and went through some troubleshooting steps to determine a possible cause. It was determined that my unit may have developed a coolant leak and I needed a replacement unit. Since I only had the unit for a short time, Alorair paid for shipping the unit back as well as shipping me a replacement unit. They even sent me some extra HEPA filters as well. The replacement unit has been working great. I am very happy with my Alorair Sentinel HDi90 and even happier with the superb customer service. Thanks again Alorair for a great product and even greater customer support, and thank you Jenavieve!

What a great way to keep a comfortable environment in your house. Especially if you have a wallboard etcetera you don't want extra humidity. Also when there is extra humidity mold grows and even if you don't see it it will be there in a fine film. Certain times of the year the heater or air conditioner is not removing any moisture and these are the best times to have your dehumidifier going but this one can be on all the time because it has a setting for humidity level where you can set the level you want and it will just come on when it needs to. Also, this one takes up humidity fairly quickly and is a high capacity, and runs fairly quiet. One of the unique features is that when the water tank gets full you don't even have to remove it from the unit. You can use the hose in the back to your out the door or out the window and press the pump button and it will pump the water out for you. This is awesome for older people that just can't work the heavy bucket or people that just don't want to. This machine is an energy star and will save energy compared to other machines. Just an all-around awesome dehumidifier.

Have recently sealed crawl space, blocking vents, spray foaming the rim band, sealing up any air entry, and ensuring no water issues. It still had humidity around 80%, so I knew I'd need a dehumidifier. This one had all the features I wanted, including a built-in pump. It does remove massive amounts of moisture. Easy and simple to use. It is built extremely well. These are heavy, but that for the workload, this one seems lightweight in comparison.

The price of this dehumidifier is a little high, so I hesitate to buy it. On the other hand, I couldn't pass up such a good deal if it was accurate. I'm happy to say that so far, the description has been genuine, and exactly it has surpassed my expectations already. The quiet unit has pulled enough humidity out of the air to make my basement much more comfortable and cooler without all that humidity.

This dehumidifier is fantastic. I have been through many dehumidifiers for my basement that has been loud, ugly, clunky, and not working correctly from all the major name brands. This dehumidifier does the job, runs incredibly quiet, and has a sleek design. I'm able to bring guests down to the basement, and they're very curious about what it is, asking if it's an intelligent device, lol. All in all, I'm super impressed by this dehumidifier. It keeps my basement dry and works better than almost every previous dehumidifier I've owned from the big names.

It installed this in my crawl space to keep humidity in check in mid-January. It moves a lot of air to get the moisture down in a small confined space in no time. It's also not too loud; even though it is installed very close to a bedroom, it's just barely audible from there. It stopped switching on when the humidity got past its setpoint about a month later. It's rock-solid reliability.

Heavy item arrived well packaged. I installed it in our crawl space per instructions. It immediately began lowering humidity there to my setting of 55%. The most challenging part was leveling due to the uneven floor, but that is crucial for proper long-term running. It is quiet and difficult to hear from the bedroom above where it is installed. It seems easy to maintain, which I plan to do so per the instructions.

Firstly I’ll say that AlorAir customer service is excellent. I contacted them about getting a 220VAC unit. They helped me order it correctly. When there was a delay in delivery due to the availability of 220V compressors, they informed me, gave me an accurate fulfillment date, and provided some compensation for the delay. It’s only been installed for about a week. And I only yesterday blocked off all of my crawl space vents. It’s been raining for days here. But even with the crawl space vents open, the humidity level in the space dropped from above 75% to about 60%. Since I blocked the ducts yesterday, it’s down to 50% and dropping. And I still have work to do to isolate better my crawl space (the plastic that’s down on the ground is aged and has significant gaps, especially around the sides). So far I’m thoroughly satisfied with this product.

This Sentinel HDi90 dehumidifier did an amazing job! We live in a very humid place. The room never felt particularly wet, but it does feel warmer now. It's so easy to use. A very low unobtrusive buzz.

I did a lot of research before I bought the AlorAir Sentinel HDi90. I wanted the following: 1. small size to fit through the crawlspace door under our cabin. 2. A unit that had remote monitoring capability. 3. A unit with high capacity. 4. A dehumidifier that appeared to be well built and Energy Star rated, and lastly. 5. A good warranty. The AlorAir unit has a five-year warranty. While reviewing possible machines to buy, I contacted AlorAir by email with several questions about the HDi90 and, within 24 hours, had the answers I was looking for it. Good product and good service!

Yes, you can put it in a clean, dry spot. It is a plug-and-play unit. It would help if you made sure the space was completely sealed for the unit to be efficient.
